Work & Skilled Migration Visas

Work & Skilled Migration Visas – Australia

Australia offers a range of Work & Skilled Migration Visas to attract skilled professionals, fill labor shortages, and support economic growth. These visas provide opportunities for temporary and permanent residency based on skills, work experience, and employer sponsorship.

Key Visa Categories:

✅ Subclass 482 – Skill in Demand

  • This temporary visa lets an employer sponsor a suitably skilled worker to fill a position they can’t find a suitably skilled Australian to fill.
  • *On December 7 2024, the Skills in Demand (SID) visa replaced the Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) visa. All TSS nominations and visa applications lodged prior to the implementation of the SID visa will be processed using the requirements in force at the time the application was lodged. If your employer has lodged a TSS nomination and you have not lodged your associated TSS visa application before 7 December 2024, if the nomination is approved it will be deemed a SID nomination and you can lodge an associated application for a SID visa.

✅ Subclass 186 – Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa

  • Permanent visa for skilled workers nominated by an Australian employer.
  • Requires skills assessment and relevant work experience.

✅ Subclass 189 – Skilled Independent Visa

  • Permanent residency visa for highly skilled workers without employer or state sponsorship.
  • Points-tested based on age, qualifications, and work experience.

✅ Subclass 190 – Skilled Nominated Visa

  • Permanent residency visa for skilled workers nominated by an Australian state or territory.
  • Requires meeting state-specific occupation lists and eligibility criteria.

✅ Subclass 191 – Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) Visa

  • Provides a pathway to PR for holders of eligible regional work visas (491 or 494).

✅ Subclass 491 – Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa

  • A temporary visa for skilled workers nominated by a state or sponsored by a family member in a regional area.
  • Provides a pathway to PR after meeting work and residency requirements.

✅ Subclass 494 – Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa

  • For skilled workers sponsored by an employer in a designated regional area.
  • Offers a pathway to permanent residency under Subclass 191.

Australia’s skilled migration program aims to attract professionals who can contribute to the economy while offering them long-term career and settlement opportunities.
